Emerging From the Crisis

I will start by apologizing for the tardiness of this month’s post. The recent events surrounding the coronavirus and its impact, along with the subsequent reactions by people, government, and businesses, have surrounded us with a rapidly changing world of uncertainty.

How will we handle the adversity that has suddenly been thrust upon us all? Managing our lives through adversity gives us a clear, mirrored view of how well our goals and desires serve us and others. These times will force us to examine our present path and will offer clear clues if things need to be changed.

What can this look like for you? It may be difficult to say what exactly this will call up for you, nor will it be easy to just skim the surface of how you should react. This will be a very personalized experience for each of you – one that will most definitely make you feel uncomfortable, unsafe, yet hopefully excited all at once. In working through your thoughts and reactions, whether they are induced by cabin fever, illness, job loss, or interruption of return, it is important to remember several key points.

Let these form a foundation for the self-work you must undertake to make the appropriate change of course. They will help you emerge from the current crisis energized and ready to get to work.

  • Take care of your body.
  • Mind the mind.
  • Embrace your spirit.
  • Draw up a new routine.
  • Seek to inspire and connect to a different person each day.

You may be amazed at just how impactful following these few directives will be on your overall well-being. And while the impact on your community may not be immediate, your improved attitude and outlook WILL be noticed immediately by those you live with and interact with daily. This helps you to still serve others by the inspiration that your own efforts project, and it will help you to build a keen sense of awareness of your self and the work that is to be done.

Making a Difference in Other’s Lives Should be Your True Purpose

In the early stages of our launch, we discovered a number of areas that, with improvement, could make us better at what we accomplish for our customers. These discoveries not only were driven by some of the initial feedback we have received, but they also came from a place deep within ourselves. As we grow as a company, and as our services evolve to fit the changing needs of our clients, personal growth will naturally come along for the ride.

This got me thinking about the volumes of words and books written about the subject of integrating our personal growth and business or career growth with the ability to help others. Before beginning any project, whether it be a project at home or a complicated initiative at work, it is always important to ask this one simple and complex question:

How can I best use my talents, knowledge, and wisdom to better serve those around me?

I find that asking myself this question presents me with the valuable insights needed to make the best decisions around what and how to prioritize. Working to accomplish this, while it may feel uncomfortable at times, ultimately brings out the best you in the end. By trusting yourself and the abilities you can offer to this world, your confidence will grow and you will feel inspiration wash over you.

But do we really have the time to inject this important element of personal success into our lives? Ideally, we would all be able to accomplish everything in precisely scheduled timelines throughout our life, but the reality is almost always quite different. This is where self-trust comes into play. It is through the trust in our resilience, our talent to establish a flexible plan of attack, and our desire to do the best thing for the people around us that can drive us forward regardless of the hardships we face.

Keeping focus on making a positive impact in the lives of others must always remain at the forefront of our thinking. When processing a situation, or in daily decision making, take a moment to pause and make the conscious decision to let your actions be defined by the people they positively impact. Remain determined to stay on track in doing this, because even if you miss a moment, you will not have long to wait for the next opportunity to arrive.
